Assignment 1.3 Reflections

A. The Work/Life Balance Planning assignment I found to be quite helpful. Taking the time to step back examine the important in life is a great way to begin this journey. Simply awareness of the time constraints and how this new addition will impact my friends, family and work situations really seems to be half the battle. The other half is the difficult half; making necessary adjustments in my life to make graduate school a priority.

B. I am excited about taking what I am learning and applying directly to my work. Yesterday, I conducted a job interview and found the conversation with the job applicant turned to The 8Th Habit (Covey) and the "Big Rocks" demonstration. As we discussed Covey's teachings I began to see how much influence this journey will have on my professional life.

C. I would like to ask my coach:
"How do you balance work and life?"
" Of your work life what are the top 2 priorities?"
"What do you enjoy most and least about your profession?"
" In what ways do you reflect and does this help keep things in perspective?

D. Resume. Profile. Direct mail and email marketing pieces. Campaign plans. Certificates of complete ion of conferences and training seminars. Letters of recommendation. Degree transcripts.

These documents would suggest I am a dedicated, hard worker, with experience in politics, fundraising, and public relations. It would not speak much to me personally. However, I am excited to learn about how to incorporate my personality more into a portfolio.
